One Week Till Outreach!
Hello friends and family back home! I'm here to give you just a quick update before I leave for outreach in a week.
Yep. That's right. We only have one week of lectures before outreach phase! Where in the world has the time gone??
If I were to sum up the past three months in one word, it would be transformation. Of my heart, my mind, my faith... my accent. (They tell me I often sound Southern. Whatever.) I've discovered more about my identity, my calling, and my place in the world. I've learned what true Christianity looks like, what God's voice sounds like, and what the Holy Spirit feels like. How to be "Jesus with skin on," as the missional phrase here at An Cuan goes.
So while lecture phase has been incredible, I am so ready for outreach! I feel like the past three months have been a warm up and work out, but now I'm ready to sprint onto the field and into the game.
And how better to do that than to kick off outreach with a 200 mile border walk? In six days (six days?!), my DTS and much of the staff here at An Cuan will walk out the front door and embark on a two week long trek across the border of Northern Ireland and the Republic, praying for peace and reconciliation between the two countries. Lots of walking, praying and bonding with my teammates. Should be quite challenging and fun!
After border walk, we head off the Summer Madness, a Christian youth festival in Belfast. We'll be there for a week, camping (again) and helping out with YWAM and the festival. Not completely sure about the details yet!
July 10th, half of my DTS and I will leave for Scotland! Here is where we'll spend most of our outreach phase. The first nearly three weeks we'll in Glasgow, fourth week in Oben, on a pilgrimage through the Highlands (lot of walking on this outreach!). Our last week we will be in Ediburgh, taking part in the Fringe festival, the largest arts festival in the world! So exciting!
Well that's a synopsis of the next couple months! If you'd like to pray specifically, ask God that he would provide some of my teammates outreach fees, open doors for us to minister in Scotland, and give us the energy to make it through the long, busy days.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
