First Week of DTS!
I can not believe that a week ago, I was wandering around airports, lugging a suitcase, guitar, and backpack that I'm pretty sure had a combined total weight and volume of a small moose. Was it really just a week ago that I stared with wide eyes as my first glimpses of Ireland flashed by the car window? Has it only been seven days since I introduced myself to my five new roommates?
And yet, though this week has seemingly flown by, it's impossible to give even a taste of all that has happened.
I've met new friends- incredible, Spirit-filled, joyful people that I am so lucky to spend the next 6 months with. I've witnessed the Creator's extravagant beauty throughout the stunning world He's made. I've seen a different, yet wonderfully refreshing and genuine side of Christianity through a community of committed Jesus-followers.

And this is still orientation week?! *deep breath* *huge exhale*
Okay, so getting into a little more specifics. (I'm not very good with these.)
There are sixteen of us students attending this DTS, each unique in age, background and personality. We have six leaders, five of which I've met, and, wow, what an inspiring group of men and women!
My DTS is located in Rostrevor, Northern Ireland at YWAM's base, called An Cuan, Irish for "The Harbor". Rostrevor is a small (wee) village, situated on the coast of the Irish Sea and framed by the Mourne Mountains. Needless to say, it's gorgeous! Most of Rostrevor is Catholic, so they would tell you they live in Ireland, not Northern Ireland.
The people here are very welcoming! They enjoy music and being around each other. The atmosphere is quite different from the United States, but I am loving it!
I'm going to keep this short, mainly because my mind is still trying to process everything that's happened this week! Thank you again and again to all of you back home who gave so that I could have this opportunity! I can say with all honestly that you have played in huge part in changing my life by enabling me to attend this DTS.
If you have a moment, please pray for my team as we begin on Monday our first week of lectures. Pray God would mold our hearts, show us who we truly are, and enable us to hear His voice better.
Till next week! Love you all!
